CompTIA A+ Certification Exam: Candidates are encouraged to use this document to help prepare for CompTIA A+ Core 2.
In order to receive the CompTIA A+ certification, you must pass two exams: Core 1 (220-
1001) and Core 2 (220-1002). CompTIA A+ Core 2 measures the necessary skills for an entrylevel IT professional. Successful candidates will have the knowledge required to:
• Assemble components based on customer requirements
• Install, configure, and maintain PCs, mobile devices, and software for end users
• Understand the basics of networking and security forensics
• Properly and safely diagnose, resolve, and document common hardware and software issues
• Apply troubleshooting skills
• Provide appropriate customer support
• Understand the basics of scripting, virtualization, desktop imaging, and deployment
You must test and pass two 800 series exams (220-801 and 220-802) by June 30, 2016.
To be certified in CompTIA A+ after June 30th, you will need to study for and take two 900 series exams (220-901 and 220-902). Combinations of the 800 and 900 series exams are not allowed.

Network+ (Network Plus) is a mid-level certification for network technicians. Besides, this certification is designed to test the competency of a mid-level network technician in supporting and configuring TCP/IP clients in terms of network design, cabling, hardware setup, configuration, installation, support, and troubleshooting.
The Network+ certification is sponsored by CompTIA, which is the Computing Technology Industry Association (formerly ABCD: The Microcomputer Industry Association). This coveted exam contains situational, traditional, and identification types of questions. Moreover, the Network+ exam is open to anybody, although it is designed to be taken by those with at least 18 months of on-the-job experience as a network technician, as well as the A+ certification or equivalent knowledge.
